NEW DEVELOPMENTS: 5/21/2008 : NO SIGN PERMIT? NO GRADING PERMIT?
In a letter to Mr. Vezzoso the county accused him of an illegal sign and grading on his commercial property outside of Glenwood Springs, near highway 82. The letter from Mr. Chappelle, the new code enforcement officer (by the way, what happened to Ron? He mysteriously disappeared? Is "someone" tampering with the hiring/firing process as accused in this letter to the Post Independent in 2006?) stated that Mr. Vezzoso did not have a grading permit for 'witnessed excavation'. This was dumping a pile of dirt and hauling it away on another day. They also are demanding that the Vezzosos' take down our stopGARCOinjustice.com sign that is illumined near highway 82 at night time. We find it odd that the county sent the Vezzosos' an official notice saying the Vezzoso's need a permit when in section 5.07.06 (9) says political signs are an exception, which BOCC elections happen to be in November, and in 5.07.06 (14) it says that Ideological signs expressing the philosophical views of the owner shall be allowed without requiring a permit. WHY, we wonder does they county not look up it's own code before officially citing someone, then not even cite the code? It's called harassment. Picture proof. Want more proof. They also said Mr. Vezzoso was grading because he was excavating. IT'S CALLED A GRADING PERMIT, NOT A SOIL LOADING AND UNLOADING PERMIT. In a response letter, the Vezzoso's ask what the county's definition of grading is, because Independent Trucking & Excavation's (a 25 year old excavation company) definition's is the same as in the dictionary (Merriam-Webster's) which is posted below. We thought we'd look up the definition of harassment too.
Merriam-Webster (Grading): transitive verb1 a: to arrange in grades : sort b: to arrange in a scale or series c: to assign to a grade or assign a grade to 2: to level off to a smooth horizontal or sloping surface
Merriam-Webster (Harassment): 1 a: exhaust, fatigue b (1): to annoy persistently (2): to create an unpleasant or hostile situation for especially by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct 2: to worry and impede by repeated raids <harassed the enemy>
ANNOUNCEMENT: 5/21/2008: WHISTLER-BLOWER'S SERVICE :: stopGARCOinjustice is announcing it's development of a new e-mail system that is designed to help local citizens keep their government officials in check and responsible. We are compiling a database list of every major newspaper, television station, news related website, senator's office's, governor's offices and so on. This database will allow any citizen from any county to SOUND OFF. We plan on adding 3,000 to 4,000 publishers and officials with named contacts. We will allow citizens to make their case and appeal to media. They will be able to select which area's they want to sound off in. For example, you can sound off locally in the Roaring Fork Valley by sending it to all the news papers and television stations here or if the problem is local, you can select the entire state of Colorado. If you need a bigger audience you can make your case on a national level and broadcast your voice to the entire country. Please note, stopGARCOinjustice.com will have a review process to make sure only valid complaints (only verified facts to be published online here first) make it through and will be posted on this website for the public to see the reason for the approval or denial. Once an argument is approved, they will have to generate 20 signatures for local exposure, 100 for state broadcast and 200 for national full broadcast. Must be real cases of proven corruption or verifiable injustice. Only selected and valid messages will be allowed to be sent through the system. This is because even if only 50 supporters write, the system can generate over 200,000 emails in less than 15 minutes if sent to the entire database. Please look for this tool within the next week. stopGARCOinjustice plans on having all of it's supporters use this tool on a state level first and national level if this or any injustice is swept under the rug.
